In the four hours of video training, Dr. Katz :
describes the behavioral problems that frequently occur;
explains how emotional problems, including

  a.  impairment in the ability to become close to, attached to, and trusting of others;
  b.  a strong need to feel in control of some aspect of their lives in order to compensate for feelings of vulnerability and insecurity;
  c.  impaired sense of identity, including low self esteem;
  d.  strong anger and rage;
  e.  developmental delays and regression in social skills;
  f.  negative attitudes; and
  g.  selfish ineffective values develop and how they produce behavioral problems;
demonstrates many responses and interventions that are effective in working on and reducing these problems;
teaches specific ways to help children learn how to:

  a.  form and maintain healthy attachments and relationships despite previous losses;
  b.  feel and be in control in positive ways despite having experienced painful situations over which they had little or no control;
  c.  build self-esteem and a healthy sense of identity;
  d.  overcome anger, including expressing it effectively by using it's energy to make positive things happen;
  e.  gain maturity;
  f.  develop a positive attitude in an often frustrating world; and
  g.  learn, internalize, and apply effective values;
shows how to increase the impact of helping methods by reinforcing verbal ideas with multi-sensory, hands on, real life, concrete, tangible experiences.
