"...I cannot begin to tell you how valuable these tapes would be to most if not all - of the adoptive and foster parents with whom I work. I feel that they would be an excellent tool for me to use during my evaluation process, and also for our foster care and delinquency workers to use in helping foster parents understand and deal with the behaviors that they see daily."

We work on reducing underlying emotional problems involving attachment, control, anger, identity, values, attitudes, and immaturity in addition to working on reducing behavioral problems.

how to form and maintain healthy attachments and relationships despite previous losses,
how to be in control in positive ways, despite having experienced painful situations over which they had little or no control,
how to build self-esteem,
how to overcome anger, including expressing it effectively,
how to gain maturity,
how to develop a positive attitude in a frustrating world, and
how to learn and apply effective values.

FAMILY THERAPY:
We provide family therapy as we work with parents as well as the children.

TEACH BY EXPERIENCING:
We do far more than traditional talk or play therapy. Many of my therapeutic techniques and interventions are unique and involve using multisensory stimulation that people experience in addition to tradition talking and play therapy. For example, each of my offices has over 500 hand-made arts and crafts by local and national artists that people can see, hear or touch. Any message or lesson that the therapist teaches with words can be reinforced by seeing and touching the various objects of art. People learn more efficiently and effectively when they experience in a concrete, sensory, tangible manner the lessons being taught rather than when they just experience hearing words. We also use Origami (paper folding) as a therapeutic tool that fascinates most people while working on attachment, control, identity, attitudes, anger, values, maturity, problem-solving, conflict resolution problems and coping skills.
